Why we grind every slab
New steel-building slabs often have curing compound or sealer on top, and a coating will not bond to it. Diamond grinding takes it off and opens the concrete so the base coat soaks in.
Why we test for moisture
Rural lots without a good vapor barrier can push moisture up through the slab, which lifts coatings from below. When the test calls for it, a moisture-blocking primer goes down first.
